Univision’s TeleFutura network has become UniMás, offering bolder programming that targets the millennial “Más” Generation. Partnering with Caracol TV International, RTI Productions and Televisa, UniMás will reportedly stand out from other Spanish-language channels by showing daring subject matter and dramas.
“Made in Cartagena” and “Quién Eres Tú” will be the first two shows on the network, premiering at 9 p.m. ET/PT (8 p.m. Central), according to a recent HispanicTips.com article.
“Made in Cartagena” is a crime drama from Colombia’s Caracol TV, starring Miguel de Miguel (“La Reina del Sur”), Carmen Villalobos (“Sin Senos No Hay Paraíso”), and Fernando Solórzano (“Muñecas de la Mafia”) The show takes audiences inside the dangerous underworld of Cartagena.
“Quién Eres Tú” (Who Are You), is an original show by RTI Productions for UniMás, starring Laura Carmine (“Amor Bravío”) and Julián Gil (“La Que No Podía Amar”). The program follows Natalia, who has unwittingly agreed to take the place of her identical sister for one week, resulting in a week of lies, schemes and dangerous situations.
UniMás is part of Univision’s planned expansion in 2012 that includes four new networks — Univision Deportes, Univision tlnovelas, FORO TV, and UVideos, a bilingual digital video network .
