The start of the fall season is an excellent time to embrace the fruits of autumn like pumpkins and apples in your adult beverages. You no longer have to choose between apple cider or sangria because you can have both. Sip with an open mind, cheers to the magic of autumn, and salute these new twists on some classic Latino cocktails.
Spiced Apple Cider Sangria
Yield: 6 1/2 cups
Apple Cider Sangria filled with hints of orange, cinnamon, and clove… Perfect for fall! Doubling this recipe is highly recommended!
Ingredients:
For the Spiced Apple Cider:
- 2 cups apple cider (the real stuff – opaque in color & found in the refrigerator section)
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 2 cinnamon sticks
- 1/2-teaspoon cloves
- 1/4-1/2 teaspoon ground allspice
- 1/2 teaspoon orange zest
- 2 orange slices (rounds)
For the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria:
- 1 bottle inexpensive Spanish red wine (we used Tempranillo)
- 2 cups spiced apple cider (recipe above)
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 cup brandy
Directions:
For the Spiced Apple Cider:
Mix together all ingredients in a medium sized saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium-high heat and then remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Strain before using.
For the Spiced Apple Cider Sangria: Mix ingredients together in a large pitcher and garnish with orange wheels and cinnamon sticks. To serve, pour over ice.

Apple Margarita
Yield: 4 margaritas
Serving Size: 6 ounces
Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 4 oz freeze dried apples
- lime wedges
- 1 cup tequila
- 1 cup fresh apple juice, strain for any small bits of skin or seeds
- 1/3 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/2 cup Cointreau
- ice cubes
- apple slices for garnish
Instructions
- On a small plate spread salt, if using only salt.
- Apple Salt Mix- In a food processor pulse salt/freeze dried apple until coarse
- With lime wedges moisten rim of 6 ounce glasses.
- Dip glasses into salt.
- Place glasses into freezer to chill.
- In a pitcher combine tequila, fresh apple juice, lime juice and Cointreau.
- Remove glasses from freezer and serve margarita mixture over ice.
- Garnish with apple slices.

Camarena Candy Corn Cordial
- 1 oz Familia Camarena Reposado Tequila
- ½ oz butterscotch schnapps
- ½ oz Crème de Cacao
- 2 oz fresh orange juice
- 1 tsp dark cocoa
- 4 pieces candy corn
Directions: Rim a martini glass with orange juice then cocoa powder. In a shaker, add tequila, butterscotch schnapps, crème de cocoa and orange juice. Add ice and shake well. Strain into prepared martini glass. Garnish with an orange wheel and toothpick of candy corn.

Cinnamon Sparkler
Ingredients:
- 1.5 oz Kahlúa
- Cinnamon Spice
- 3 oz Sparkling Apple Cider
- small squeeze of lemon
Directions: Shake Kahlúa Cinnamon Spice and lemon. Top with sparkling cider. Garnish with dash of nutmeg or cinnamon.

Pumpkin Mojito
Ingredients
- 11 mint leaves
- 1 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1.25 oz rum
- 1 Tbsp pumpkin
- 1/2 lime
- 2 oz soda
Directions
- Muddle mint leaves and sugar.
- Add rum, pumpkin, and juice from 1/2 lime.
- Mix well, add ice, top with soda, and
