The Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation Partner With Univision

Univision is partnering with the Bill, Hillary & Chelsea Clinton Foundation and New Generation on the early childhood development initiative Too Small to Fail. The partnership is part of a comprehensive new public service initiative – called Univision Contigo (Univision With You) – designed to focus on education, health, financial literacy and voter participation in the Hispanic community.
The initiative builds on the company’s efforts with longstanding partners The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, the U.S. Department of Education and many other organizations to increase educational attainment. In the past three years, those efforts have included quarterly television specials, town halls, workshops and phone banks managed by Univision’s local television and radio stations. The initiative also has awarded more than 85 educational scholarships.
The growing U.S. Hispanic community now numbers 55 million, more than 16 percent of the U.S. population and is expected to grow to one in five Americans by 2018. With more than $1 trillion in spending power, Hispanics are increasingly the focus of programmers, marketers and politicians.
The Univision Contigo initiative was unveiled Nov. 25 on Univision’s morning show Despierta America (Wake Up America) and will include PSAs featuring the networks stars (Jorge Ramos, Maria Elena Salinas and Sábado Gigante host Don Francisco) on flagship broadcaster Univision as well as UniMás, Galavision, Univision tlNovelas and sports network Univision Deportes.
