A Connecticut company has landed on the 2012 HispanicBusiness 500 ranking of the top U.S. Hispanic-owned firms. Cabrera Services of East Hartford ranked number 105 on the HispanicBusiness 500, the only state company to make the list.
Only two other New England companies are included on the list compiled by Hispanic Business Magazine: Resource Management Inc., Fitchburg, Mass., with 2011 revenues of $120.79 million at 59 and Quintana Associates of Haverhill, Mass., with 2011 revenues of $5.11 million at 402.
Cabrera Services, founded in 1994, specializes in remediation services for radioactive, hazardous, and toxic sites as well as the management, demilitarization, and disposal of explosives and munitions materials. Located at 473 Silver Lane in East Hartford, Cabrera Services employs 175 and earned revenues of $55 million in 2011. Cabrera Services has eight other offices across the U.S., including offices in Baltimore, Md., and Albuquerque, N.M.
Cabrera has been a leader in local community service. For the past nine years’ Cabrera has participated in the Hartford Area Habitat for Humanity Build-A-Thon event. This year, Cabrera volunteers helped finish the porch roofs of the new townhomes in the South Marshall Street section of Hartford, homes which will eventually go to working, low-income families.
