LATISM, a non-profit organization for Latinos in social media, has teamed up with Google to coordinate a Hispanic-focused technology startup conference.
Production affiliates said that the event’s purpose is to offer opportunities to Latinos with technology-based startups to network and discuss their concepts, as well as learn strategies for success within the Hispanic community, Fox News Latino reported.
The event, Latino 2 Series: Jumpstarting an Innovation Revolution, will begin this Thursday, June 26, at Google Ventures in Mountain View, California.
“In today’s digital economy, Latinos must move from simply being consumers to leaders in the technology field,” LATISM founder Ana Roca Castro said in a statement. “We thank Google for hosting the conference again this year and for helping us build a more inclusive ecosystem.”
The event will offer workshops with start-up investors, as well as feedback and advice from marketing and technology experts.
“Google is proud to support LATISM in this event,” Mary Grove, Director of Global Entrepreneurship Outreach at Google said in a press release. “Our mission with Google for Entrepreneurs is to foster the spirit of entrepreneurship around the world and we believe in supporting organizations who empower founders with technology and training.”
