Latinos Key to CT Catholic Schools Survival

post_author

While more than 75% of Latinos in the U.S. are Catholic, only 3% of Latino children currently attend Catholic schools.  Latino students fare much better at Catholic schools where they are 42% more likely to graduate from high school and two and a half times more likely to graduate from college than peers who attend public schools.  Facing an overall decline in Catholic school enrollment, many dioceses, including those in Connecticut, are increasing their efforts to recruit and support Hispanic students.
