In an ironic twist that is sure to annoy Donald Trump, NBC is considering naming Mexican-American comedian George Lopez as the new host of Celebrity Apprentice.
Last month, the peacock network told Trump “You’re fired!” after he entered the Republican presidential sweepstakes and went on tirade about Mexican people that offended everyone but the racists in America.
“The U.S. has become a dumping ground for everybody else’s problems,” Trump said about immigration from Mexico.
“When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending their best. They’re not sending you. They’re not sending you. They’re sending people that have lots of problems, and they’re bringing those problems with us. They’re bringing drugs. They’re bringing crime. They’re rapists. And some, I assume, are good people.”
As a result, NBC gave Trump a pink slip and made the following statement:
“The annual Miss USA and Miss Universe Pageants, which are part of a joint venture between NBC and Trump, will no longer air on NBC. In addition, as Mr. Trump has already indicated, he will not be participating in The Celebrity Apprentice on NBC. Celebrity Apprentice is licensed from Mark Burnett’s United Artists Media Group and that relationship will continue.”
So while Trump will not be hosting the show any longer, NBC still plans on continuing Celebrity Apprentice without him. That means a new host is required and they have the prefect person in mind to take over.
Page Six reports that NBC is currently in early talks with George Lopez to be the new host, which would be a delicious example of irony since Trump hates Mexicans.
One source said: “There have been initial conversations with George Lopez’s representatives, and, given Donald Trump’s crazy comments, George would be the perfect loud response to Trump.”
A second source with knowledge of the discussions added, “It could be a smart move by NBC to cast …..
