Deferred Action Application Clinics Being Offered

post_author

Organizations, DREAMers, allies, community leaders, and legal professionals from across Connecticut are coming together to launch a statewide application campaign called “Own the Dream CT.”
The “Own The Dream CT” organizations are hosting free or low cost application clinics for Deferred Action (DACA) throughout Connecticut, staring this weekend, to help students complete the application process. The coalition is working to ensure that the application process is efficient and that all possible beneficiaries get the help they need.
In CT, there are 9,000 potential Deferred Action beneficiaries. Youth will be eager to file their application and are easy targets for notarios and unscrupulous lawyers.
During the application clinics, applicants will first go through an eligibility screening. Candidates who qualify will get help with the application process and have their applications reviewed by immigration attorneys. Eligible applicants will leave the clinic with a completed application or a list of referrals where they can get more help.
Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all who want to attend a clinic. Registration is online.  Applicants should bring all needed documents and come prepared to complete the entire application process. More information on how to prepare for the Clinic will be sent upon registration.
