NEW YORK, NY – October 20, 2020 – (LATINX NEWSWIRE) – What’s Next for Latinos in the USA? This poignant topic will be addressed by Maria Elena Salinas as Keynote Speaker of the second event organized by Latinas in Business Inc. to energize the Latino vote, “REGAIN OUR LATINO POWER – A National Conversation with Latina Leaders.” The virtual event will take place this coming Friday, October 23, 2020, from 12 pm to 2 pm EST, and will be LIVE Streamed on the LatinasinBusiness.us Facebook page and Zoom.

“Twenty-three organizations around the country are supporting our effort to encourage Latinos to get out and vote,” said Susana G Baumann, Founder President and CEO of Latinas in Business Inc. “Last, week, the speakers’ testimonials were proof that the Latinx community, together with other minorities, is suffering the worse of the COVID-19 pandemic: essential workers dying in the frontlines without PPE, lack of financial assistance to families and businesses, and separation of immigrant families.”

This week’s panels topics include Immigration Reform, and Financial Assistance to Small Businesses. Jennifer Ibañez Whitlock, Manager of Pro Bono Partnerships and Projects for the Immigrant Justice Campaign at the American Immigration Council in Washington DC; Attorney Cesar Martin Estela, President of the New Jersey Chapter of the American Immigration Lawyers Association (AILA); and Amy Hinojosa, President and CEO of MANA, A National Latina Organization, the oldest and largest Latina membership organization in the United States, will address Immigration Reform, separation and families, and delay of legal documentation for New Americans.

The second panel, Financial Assistance to Small Business, will address the state of Latinx and other minority businesses, and resources available. Speakers are Gabriela Chavez-Lopez, the current President of the Latina Coalition of Silicon Valley (LCSV); and Wendy Garcia, Chief Diversity Officer of the NYC Office of the Comptroller. Garcia leads the Comptroller’s Advisory Council on Economic Growth through Diversity and Inclusion –  a group comprised of national, local, corporate, and government experts seeking to increase supplier diversity in the public and private sectors.

“I invite you to join the conversation to REGAIN OUR LATINO POWER, sharing this information with friends and family, and helping them understand how important it is to get out the Latinx Vote in this election,” Baumann stated. “Hermanas, as mothers, daughters, sisters, most of us carry the burden of our families, looking after our children, caregiving for our families and relatives, and making sure everyone has a roof over their head and food on their table. Now, we call you to step up and regain the power for our Latinx community,” Baumann concluded. “Sisters, Yes We can! Sí se puede!”
